Motor fans will have a chance to watch the Night of the Jumps FIM Freestyle Motocross World Championship this weekend.

    Freestyle motocross (also known as FMX) is a variation on the sport of motocross in which motorcycle riders attempt to impress judges with jumps and stunts.

    Some riders execute their tricks on natural slopes and drop-offs while others prefer using sand dunes. Notable freestyle motocross events include the Red Bull X-Fighters, Night of the Jumps, the X-Games, Gravity Games, Big-X and the Moto-X Freestyle National Championship.

    The Shenzhen event is organized by the Federation of International Motorcycling (FIM), the global governing and sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 111 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional, continental unions. Initiated in 2001 in Germany, the FIM Freestyle Motocross World Championship debuted in China in 2012.

    With world-class pyrotechnics, death defying stunts and nonstop action, the Night of the Jumps is a must-see event.
