Armored vehicle highlights from the show
    2016-11-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

WEBSITE 81.cn compiles the highlights of armored ground vehicles to be featured at the Airshow China 2016 in Zhuhai. Over 700 exhibitors from 42 countries and regions will display more than 900 pieces of weaponry, including aircraft, radar systems and missiles. Visitors will also have the chance to see live demonstrations of vehicles, a first at Airshow China.

The VT-4 main battle tank, also known as MBT-3000, capable of climbing longitudinal slopes and crossing trenches, will demonstrate its high flexibility and off-road capability during this airshow. Developed by China North Industries Corp. (NORINCO) mainly for export, the tank, equipped with a 125mm smoothbore gun, sells for about US$4 million each. The Royal Thai Army has signed a US$200 million order for the VT-4 in April.

The ST1 wheeled tank destroyer, armed with 105mm tank gun, is developed mainly for the Middle East market. It can be equipped for motorized units or a quick reaction forces. More than 100 destroyers have been exported, according to reports.

The China-made VN12 caterpillar infantry combat vehicle is both for export and domestic military use. The vehicle is capable of striking enemy tanks, light armored targets and even gunships.
