International Design Fair

Themed “Design, Connecting All Possibilities,” the 4th China (Shenzhen) International Design Fair will host pioneering designs in seven display areas. Products to be showcased will include the latest designs for robots, drones, wearable devices, VR and smart gadgets as well as shared design technologies, incubators and platforms. Fair highlights include designs that have won coveted awards, including Italy’s A’Design Award, Japan’s G-mark award, the IDEA award from the United States and Germany’s iF award.

Intl. Photography Week

Shenzhen International Photography Week is showcasing world-renowned artists’ works until Nov. 6. Shenzhen Art Museum (Metro: Tai’an) will be exhibiting fashion photography by F.C. Gundlach, portraits by Paul Huf and X-Ray negative photography by Dain L. Tasker. Dafen Art Museum (Metro: Dafen) will have on exhibit Russian photography and works by Till Leeser, Vojtech V. Slama, Ivan Pinkava, Li Zhiliang, Cai Huansong, Stanley Fung, Arno Rafael Minkkinen and Jean-Claude Mougin.

Free arthouse movies

Chinese-language arthouse movies and documentaries are on show free of admission at B10 and A3+ in OCT-LOFT until Nov. 13. Most of the movies are award winners. This weekend, “My Mother’s Rhapsody” (7:30 p.m., Nov. 4, A3+), “Madame” (7:30 p.m., Nov. 5, A3+) and “The Summer Is Gone” (7:30 p.m., Nov. 6, B10 Live) will be shown with English subtitles.
