JENNIFER LAWRENCE has gone public with her new romance after openly kissing director Darren Aronofsky during a date night in New York City.

    “The Hunger Games” star has been keeping fans guessing about the nature of her relationship with Darren in recent weeks after enjoying a number of casual outings with the “Black Swan” filmmaker.

    However, it appears the actress is no longer trying to keep their blossoming romance under wraps after they were photographed smiling and locking lips as they strolled hand-in-hand in the Big Apple on Wednesday night.

    In the images, obtained by DailyMail.co.uk, Lawrence is pictured wrapped up in a black coat and scarf, while Aronofsky went without a jacket, choosing instead to wear a button-down shirt and pants, with a light scarf draped over his shoulder.

    The cosy snaps mark the first time the new couple has put on a public display of affection, although Lawrence, 26, and Aronofsky, 47, were spotted sharing a lollipop as they stepped out the previous weekend to walk the actress’ dog, Pippa.

    Reports suggest the stars grew close while filming Aronofsky’s new, untitled movie over the summer and things developed from there.

    The romance is Lawrence’s first since splitting from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin last summer after dating on and off for a year. She previously dated her “X-Men” co-star Nicholas Hoult.

    Meanwhile, Aronofsky shares a 10-year-old son, named Henry, with his ex-fiancee Rachel Weisz, who he split from in 2010. He then became involved with Canadian producer Brandi-Ann Milbradt, who he also proposed to, but they parted ways last year.
