THE FIFA Club World Cup trophy is touring China to promote the tournament, which will be held in Yokohama and Osaka, Japan, from Dec. 8-18.
“China’s passion for football is growing,” said Philippe Le Floc’h, FIFA Chief Commercial Officer. “I’m sure Chinese fans will enjoy it (trophy tour) and feel even more connected to the tournament.”
The tournament will feature the CAF Champions League winner Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, OFC Champion Auckland City FC of New Zealand, CONCACAF Champions League winner Club America of Mexico, UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid of Spain, CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores winner Atletico Nacional of Colombia, and the AFC Champions League winner which will be decided this month. A club from J League will represent the host country.
The trophy was on display at Hong Kong Plaza in Shanghai over the weekend. It will travel to Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province on Nov. 19-20.
