CHINA’S MOST WANTED FUGITIVE RETURNS TO SURRENDER
    2016-November-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

China’s most wanted graft fugitive Yang Xiuzhu (C), who has been on the run for 13 years, disembarks from a plane at Beijing Capital International Airport yesterday. Yang, 70, a former deputy director of Wenzhou’s construction bureau in Zhejiang Province, fled China in 2003 after graft inspectors began investigating her for embezzlement. She was No. 1 on a list of China’s top 100 fugitives released in an Interpol “red notice.” Yang is the 37th person on the list to return so far. Yang had been hiding in several places, including Hong Kong, Singapore, France, the Netherlands and Italy, before fleeing to the United States to seek asylum in May 2014.Xinhua
