Sheeran surprises fan with ukulele performance
    2016-11-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ED SHEERAN has been making good use of his time off from the music biz. His latest good deed included dropping in for an impromptu bedside concert for a 9-year-old fan who spends most of her time in the hospital.

According to the Facebook page hosted by her mother, Melody Driscoll was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder Rett Syndrome at birth, is unable to walk or talk and has spent about 80 percent of her life in hospitals where she’s undergone more than 40 operations. Though she was only expected to live a few years, Driscoll will turn 10 in December and her mother refers to her as a “living miracle.”

Sheeran provided Driscoll with a little magic recently when he popped into her hospital room in southeast England to play a mini-set for one of his biggest fans. Strumming his ukulele, Sheeran clearly makes Driscoll’s day with his version of “Photograph.”

Driscoll’s mom wrote a heartfelt thank-you note to Sheeran after the weekend serenade: “I want to personally take this time to thank you for making my princess’s dream come true,” she wrote. “She fell in love with you when ‘Thinking Out Loud’ came on TV for the very first time. Her reaction said it all. She sat there beaming at you on the TV and didn’t take her eyes off you for a single second. Then every single time you came on the TV after that she gave the exact same reaction. ”
