Duo recreates movie scene to pick up rubbish from sea of cow poo
    2016-12-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TEAM of laborers recreated the iconic “Mission Impossible” cable drop stunt — by dangling one worker from a cherry picker so that he could make a daring rescue from a sea of cow poo.

Boss Graham Glover filmed his madcap Mark Winnie as he was lowered over the pit to fetch the polystyrene while another colleague operated the machinery.

The hilarious video shows Winnie clutching at the discarded polystyrene and at one point almost having his face pressed against the cow dung — while Glover sings the famous “Mission Impossible” theme tune.

The cladders were working on a private farm in Wales, Britain, which is due to be converted into a site for renewable energy production.

Glover, 35, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, said, “No one fancied walking across all the cow s**t and urine to dig stuff out so this seemed like the easiest way to do it.

“We’d been working on the site for two weeks doing cladding and insulation work and this was the last day.

“Obviously they don’t want any rubbish in contamination the cow pat or it might affect the energy production. The polystyrene had just blown away in the wind.

“So Mark volunteered to be strapped to the cherry picker and do the dirty work. All the lads know what they’re doing so we made sure he was strapped in properly.

“He had lanyards round his arms and his torso so there was no danger of him falling out. You’ve got to have a laugh.

“There were only two bits he needed to retrieve but he kept dropping them, which only made it go on for longer.

“At one point he almost had his face dunked in the cow-pat which I think he was doing his best to avoid. It really stank.”

Winnie, 43, spent around seven minutes fishing out the polystyrene before returning to land and dusting himself down.

Glover and his team lived in a caravan in rural north Wales while they worked on the project for a fortnight.(SD-Agencies)
