The Shenzhen Fringe Festival will be held Dec. 3 to 11 in Nanshan District.
The festival, which is setting its main stage on open streets, is an attempt to bring free and diverse cultural activities and public art to the people of Shenzhen. The festival hopes to blend art into daily life and bring more energy to the city. All programs of the festival are free of admission. At 4:30 p.m., Dec. 3, Dock in Absolute will perform live jazz at the main stage of the festival near Coastal City shopping plaza. The band is made up of three musicians who graduated from acclaimed institutions: Berkley College of Music, Codarts University of Arts and Hochschule fur Musik Saarbrucken. With a shared love of jazz, they combine different styles of classical music, rock and electro, with visual arts.
Playing their own compositions, they created their unique jazz style. Their fresh approach to jazz allowed them to push boundaries and to explore the potential of new unique sounds while adding strength to the jazz field.
The trio have performed their music at many festivals, including Hong Kong International Jazz Festival, Beishan International Jazz Festival, Brussels Jazz Marathon, Open Jazz Festival, Stuttgart Musikfest and many others.
