    Chrysanthemums

    The 33rd chrysanthemum exhibition is being held at Donghu Park, with 120 kinds of chrysanthemums in 20,000 pots on display.

    Animation Biennale

    The Third Shenzhen Independent Animation Biennale, a three-month cross-regional art event showcasing videos and talks, will open in OCT-LOFT on Friday afternoon. Animation works created by artists from China, the United States, Germany, Italy, Australia, Britain and Switzerland are on display.

    Opening: 4:30 p.m., Dec. 2

    Exhibition dates:

    Dec. 2-March 2

    Chinese paintings

    After a year of renovation, He Xiangning Art Museum reopened Nov. 18 with a fresh exhibition, featuring paintings by 11 Chinese masters who had been greatly influenced by their studies in Japan in 1905-1937. The 11 masters at the exhibition are Gao Jianfu, Gao Qifeng, Chen Shuren, Guan Liang, Zhu Qizhan, Chen Zhifo, Ding Yanyong, Feng Zikai, Fang Rending, Li Xiongcai and Fu Baoshi. During their time in Japan, they were exposed to the synthesis of Western and Nihonga (traditional Japanese style) approaches in the contemporary Japanese art world.

    Bologna Illustrations

    The Bologna Illustrations Exhibition showcases 382 works from 76 artists. Created by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 1967, the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition offers illustrators from all over the world a unique opportunity to display their talent to key players in the sector who come to Bologna, Italy, every year for the most important trade show for the exchange of copyrights for children’s literature.

    Dates: Until Dec. 20

    Open: 10 a.m.-8 p.m., closed Mondays

    Tickets: 88 yuan (adults), 44 yuan (1.2-1.5m tall kids or students), 120 yuan (1 adult + 1 kid), 180 yuan (2 adults + 1 kid)
