    Chrysanthemums

    The 33rd chrysanthemum exhibition is being held at Donghu Park, with 120 kinds of chrysanthemums in 20,000 pots on display.

    Chinese paintings

    He Xiangning Art Museum reopened Nov. 18 with a fresh exhibition, featuring paintings by 11 Chinese masters who had been greatly influenced by their studies in Japan in 1905-1937. The 11 masters at the exhibition are Gao Jianfu, Gao Qifeng, Chen Shuren, Guan Liang, Zhu Qizhan, Chen Zhifo, Ding Yanyong, Feng Zikai, Fang Rending, Li Xiongcai and Fu Baoshi. During their time in Japan, they were exposed to the synthesis of Western and Nihonga (traditional Japanese style) approaches in the contemporary Japanese art world.

    ‘All’

    Photographic works, installations, videos and sculptures created by contemporary Chinese artist Jiang Zhi are on display at his “All” exhibition. His photography series “Elegy” and “Love Letters” show the powerful sensory experience of light and fire.

    Open: 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., closed Mondays

    SZ Fringe Festival

    The Shenzhen Fringe Festival is setting its main stage on open streets and is an attempt to bring free and diverse cultural activities and public art to the people of Shenzhen. A full schedule of the nine-day festival can be found at http://szfringe.org/.
