    Old video of Chaoshan

    More than 600 rarely seen images and an hour-long video of life in Chaozhou and Shantou in the early 20th century are on display. Researchers believe the video was shot in 1921-1939.

    Guzheng recital

    Chinese guzheng master Wang Zhongshan will perform a Chinese folk recital. A virtuoso and educationist in zheng music, Wang is on the faculty of the China Conservatory. He has invented new fingering techniques, plucking with finger-plectrums on both hands, multiple finger rolling and left-hand rolling. Together they have opened up a new vista for guzheng music.

    ‘Home Cinema’

    “Home Cinema” is an exhibition featuring new media art with interpretations from 17 artists from China and abroad. Different from traditional art forms, which include painting and graphic images as well as sculptures and installations, new media art is characterized by dynamic and real-time participation with customized programs producing variable results. It can be manifested in various forms, such as computer art, audio art, interactive art, virtual art and Internet art.

    Origami workshop

    The He Xiangning Art Museum is organizing a free origami workshop this Saturday on a first-come-first-served basis. Origami is the art of paper folding and modern origami practitioners generally discourage the use of cuts, glue, or markings on the paper. The small number of basic origami folds can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs.

    Art Festival

    Interesting and interactive activities will be held at the opening ceremony of the Art Festival in Aohu. You can decorate souvenir bags, trees, and paint on oil drums.     Bologna Illustrations

    The Bologna Illustrations Exhibition showcases 382 works from 76 artists. Created by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 1967, the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition offers illustrators from all over the world a unique opportunity to display their talent to key players in the sector who come to Bologna, Italy, every year for the most important trade show for the exchange of copyrights for children’s literature.
