Man performs death-defying somersault
    2016-12-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A STUNTMAN has carried out what looks like an impossible task — flipping between rocks 1,200 feet (365 meters) above the picturesque town of Svolvaer, Norway.

Jarl Hernes Gasvaer, 24, captured the incredible video of his brother, Brage Hernes Gasvaer, 18, flipping on the iconic Svolvargeita, the top of a popular climbing route.

Brage, a student from Oslo, climbed the summit with two others as another pair stayed behind to film.

He said, “I wanted to do something that hadn’t been done before. I asked my brother if he thought it was possible to flip between the two horns at the top, to which he replied ‘if anyone can do it you can.’

“There is an ironically placed graveyard over 350 meters below so I could literally fall to my grave. The plan was to do a test jump before the flip, but as I got to the top and visualized my surroundings, we counted to three and I just did it.

“We all felt so pumped after I’d done it, there was a moment of extreme happiness.”

Brage’s brother, Jarl, was nervous at the prospect of his brother completing the flip.

Jarl said, “Watching this was both horrible and amazing, considering that it was my brother performing the jump. My hands were shaking the entire time.”
