     要啥自行车

    yào shá zìxíngchē

Meaning: Literally translated as "What bicycle do you want," this sentence first appeared in a standup comedy show performed by Zhao Benshan and Fan Wei during the Spring Festival gala in 2001. In that well-received show, Zhao was trying to sell a walking stick to Fan who didn't actually need it at a hefty price. When Fan was convinced that he did need the walking stick, Zhao suggested that Fan should give Fan's bicycle to him since Fan would no longer need it. Chinese netizens rediscovered the sentence and used it jokingly to imply that someone is greedy and shameless to the extent of absurdity.

    Example

    A: 能借我五百块钱吗?我想送个礼物给小红。

Néng jiè wǒ wǔbǎikuài qián ma? Wǒ xiǎng sòng gè lǐwù gěi xiǎohóng。

Can I borrow 500 bucks? I want to buy Xiao Hong a gift.

    B: 我上次借给你的一千块什么时候还给我?你还要啥自行车?

Wǒ shàngcì jiè gěi nǐ de yīqiānkuài shénme shíhòu huán gěi wǒ? Ní hái yào shá zìxíngchē?

When will you return me the 1,000 bucks you borrowed last time? Now you have the face to ask for more?
