SHENZHEN residents traveling in Turkey are safe after the latest terrorist attacks in Istanbul that left at least 39 people dead and 155 others injured Saturday.
No casualties were reported from Shenzhen tour groups in Turkey after two bombs exploded outside a soccer stadium in central Istanbul, according to a release from the Shenzhen Tourism Association on Sunday.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, there were 371 travelers from 14 tour groups organized by five local travel agencies traveling in Turkey, the association said.
The association reminded Chinese tourists to call 86-10-12308, the 24-hour service hotline of the Consular Affairs Unit of the Foreign Ministry, for help if they encounter emergencies overseas.
Turkey declared a day of national mourning Sunday for the victims of the twin bombings.
Istanbul was last attacked in late June, when three suicide bombers assaulted the city’s major international airport, killing 45 people. (Han Ximin)
