Lexus screen syncs up with music, gestures
    2016-12-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    亮瞎你的眼 雷克萨斯用数万LED灯装饰车身

If you’re stumped about what color Lexus to buy, then the custom LIT IS sedan may be the car for you.

The Japanese car maker has wrapped the vehicle in 41,999 programmable LEDs*, transforming it into a screen on wheels that is capable of broadcasting glittering graphics and multi-colored animations.

The LIT IS automobile also features different modes that let drivers control the motion of the LED animations through hand gestures and another that syncs* the lights to any song that is playing from the stereo.

The one-of-a-kind vehicle made its debut in U.K. singer Dua Lipa’s new music video for “Be the One,” which features the vehicle as a character and visual anchor in a story.

There are three modes that drivers can play around with to turn the already classy Lexus into a stunning light show, which interact with sounds and people in its vicinity*.

Attract mode displays a loop of colorful graphics “that highlight the strong lines of the IS and play into its bold styling,” Lexus says in a press release.

The second is Music Viz, which transforms the Lexus into a rolling disco ball.

The LEDs respond to music, creating a custom, responsive display that syncs to songs playing from the stereo inside of the car.

Then there is Gesture mode, this feature lets drivers control animations displayed on the body of the car using hand movements and a gaming console.

This mode directly connects the car and the driver, allowing the person to send a signal and see the car respond.

The custom car also produces 175,000 lumens when fully lit up, and, if stretched out, the LED strips placed around the car would stretch a mile and a half long.
