    Test-tube babies

ANOTHER Shenzhen hospital has passed national evaluation of test-tube baby services, bringing the number of Shenzhen hospitals licensed to provide assisted reproduction services to eight.

Shenzhen People’s Hospital has helped 53 percent of its patients having reproduction problems become pregnant. The other hospitals are Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital, Beijing University Shenzhen Hospital, Luohu District People’s Hospital, Shenzhen Zhongshan Urological Hospital, the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital and Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital.

    Life saved

A 49-YEAR-OLD man who suffered from upper abdominal pain and took medicine treating stomachache was later found was having a stroke and doctors warn that the risk of having a stroke rises in winter.

The man was rushed to the operation room of the Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital after the diagnosis and was saved after doctors removed the blood clots, the hospital said Tuesday.

    Vehicle restriction lifted

SHENZHEN’S traffic police will lift the restrictions on vehicles that drive on Dongmen Central Road in Luohu District and into the Luohu and Huanggang checkpoint areas according to odd and even numbers on respective days starting Dec. 19.

The opening of Metro services at Futian and Huanggang checkpoints has relieved vehicle traffic on those roads.

    New trains

GUANGMINGCHENG Station on Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail will serve as a stop for trains going between Shenzhen North Station and Wuhan and Changsha South Station, as well as four other rail lines starting Jan. 5 when new national train schedules take effect.

The new schedules will raise the passenger handling capacity of stations to 2,200 passengers a day.
