Mr. Bean in China movie comeback
    2016-12-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ROWAN ATKINSON’S iconic character, Mr. Bean, has made a movie comeback in a Chinese film.

It’s been over 20 years since the TV series of the same name was last recorded. Since then Mr. Bean has appeared in two blockbuster films, as well as at events such as the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

His new project is a movie version of the popular Chinese comedy show “Top Funny Comedian,” also starring Guo Degang and Yue Yunpeng.

The film is scheduled for release in China in January of next year, and the inclusion of Mr. Bean will undoubtedly increase international interest in the project.

A poll for the British newspaper The Telegraph in 2014 revealed that Mr. Bean had a greater international recognition than figures from the United Kingdom including Winston Churchill, John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

However, Atkinson’s creation was found to have less international recognition than David Beckham and the Queen.
