Deal inked for one-ticket service

THE Cathay Pacific Group and China Merchants Shekou Holdings jointly announced that one-ticket service is now available for passengers flying with Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon flights during a media conference held at the Shenzhen Prince Bay Cruise Homeport in Shekou yesterday.

Along with the announcement of the package service, the airline inked other strategic deals with the Shekou cruise homeport including setting up check-in counters for the airline at the homeport. The airline will send its ground personnel to the homeport for check-in and luggage services.

The two companies also gave voice to further cooperation in providing customized service for frequent flyers based on their Big Data systems.

The one-ticket service includes a flight ticket and a return ticket for ferries commuting between Hong Kong International Airport and the Shekou Cruise Homeport, saving travel time for passengers who live in Shenzhen and are departing from the Hong Kong airport to other offshore destinations.

With the package service, passengers can book both the flight ticket and the ferry ticket at the same time.

Passengers flying with Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon only need to go through the check-in procedure once at the counters newly set up in Shekou as of yesterday. It takes 30 minutes to travel from the homeport to the boarding areas at the Hong Kong airport.

The Shenzhen Prince Bay Cruise Homeport opened Oct. 31, taking the place of the old Shekou Ferry Terminal that was closed on the same day. A large number of residents living around the Pearl River Delta choose to fly from Hong Kong to other destinations around the world.
