Headmasters fired

    TWO vice headmasters and a director in charge of moral education in Aiyi School in Longhua New Area were removed from their posts for a bullying incident, Long-hua Education Bureau said Tuesday.

    A Grade Seven student was assaulted by eight other students on his way home Friday. A video of the assault was put online and drew wide attention.

    River treatment

    SHENZHEN has invested 1 billion yuan (US$145 million) in water treatment this year and the condition of 11 rivers have improved, a water report put forward at a meeting of the city’s lawmakers showed.

    The pollution index of the Shenzhen River, Maozhou River, Guanlan River and Pingshan River dropped by 19.8 percent, 28 percent, 4.9 percent and 10 percent, respectively, from last year.

    Clinical school

    THE Shenzhen Clinical Medical School of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine was officially unveiled Tuesday at Longgang Central Hospital, the first AAA level hospital in Longang District.

    Sixty students who enrolled at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine this year will start their clinical life in the Shenzhen hospital in September 2018.

    Drug crime

    BAO’AN police recently arrested two suspects for selling drugs.

    Acting on a clue provided by Zhuhai’s anti-drug department, Bao’an police started an investigation of a ring that has been selling drugs in Shenzhen and other Guangdong cities.

    In a coordinated action Nov. 12, Bao’an police arrested the two suspects. Three other suspects were arrested in Huizhou and 420 kg of ice were seized.

    Ambulance attack

    SIX drunk men attacked medical employees of Xili People’s Hospital and smashed the windows of an ambulance for no reason after it arrived at Makan Village to rescue an alcoholic patient Tuesday morning.

    The medical employees, including a doctor and a nurse who were slightly injured, fled the scene in the ambulance, but the drunk men chased the ambulance and damaged the vehicle.

    The attackers, in their 20s, have been detained.

    Death in footbath club

    A MAN suffered from sudden death in a toilet after a 30-minute massage at a footbath club on Yousong Road in Long-hua recently.

    The club, which is unlicensed, has been closed.

    Residents in the neighborhood said that the footbath center was actually offering a body massage service. Police confirmed the sudden death.
