Flower markets

    THE upcoming 2017 Spring Festival Flower Market will be held from 10 a.m., Jan. 21 to 10 p.m., Jan. 27 in each district and new area.

    According to a plan by Shenzhen Municipal Urban Administration Bureau, a centralized flower market and scattered flower selling spots will be established for residents’ convenience to buy flowers for the Spring Festival holidays. The bureau will unveil the locations of the flower markets once the venues in each district have been decided.

    Traffic control

    TRAFFIC control will be imposed on some roads in Dapeng New Area for the New Year Marathon to be held Jan. 1.

    Either or both directions of sections on Geo Park Road, Xinda Road, Xindong Road, Kuinan Road, Shuichang Road, Yintan Road, Pengfei Road, Renmin Road, Yingbin Road, Gongyuan Road, Zhongshan Road, Qinzheng Road and Diefu Road will be temporarily closed.

    Eighteen bus routes will be adjusted from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Marathon runners can park their cars at designated parking lots near Dapeng Culture Square, which is the endpoint of the race, and take a shuttle bus to the starting point, Dapeng Geo Park square.

    Businessman caught

    A GLASS factory owner in Longgang was caught in Xiamen, three months after he fled for back wages.

    The businessman, surnamed Wei, registered his glass factory in Longgang District in 2014. However, Wei owes 140,000 yuan (US$20,290) to 33 employees due to poor management. Longgang labor authority ordered Wei to pay the back wages to the workers before he fled.

    Wei has been transferred to Shenzhen and criminally detained.
