The two-way, eight-lane corridor has a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Upon completion of the project, it will take about 20 minutes to cross the Pearl River to reach Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen and regions of western Guangdong Province. At present, it takes about two hours to cross the river.
