Vctoria Beckham to receive OBE
    2016-12-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

U.K. designer Victoria Beckham is receiving one of the highest honors in England from none other than the Queen herself.

People reports that Beckham has been named to the Queen’s Honors List for 2017 thanks to her contributions to fashion and her charity work — Beckham was named a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador in 2014 and has worked to spread awareness of HIV and AIDS. She will receive an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the New Year, joining a list of fellow designers who have received the honor, including Jimmy Choo and Sarah Burton.

Beckham’s husband, David Beckham, was a recipient in 2003 for his contributions to English football as well as for his philanthropic work.

Beckham/Posh Spice will be the first member of the Spice Girls to receive the honor, though considering their enormous contributions to the late 1990s pre-teen culture and style, we expect she won’t be the last.
