Young pop singers to heat up Bao’an
    2017-January-2  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A group of young Chinese singers, including Hu Yanbin, Su Xing, Bai Jugang, Philip Wu and Andy Su, will gather for the “Meet by Chance” pop concert Jan. 7 in Bao’an District.

From a young age, Hu showed a great interest in music and was admitted to Shanghai Conservatory of Music’s affiliated middle school. Hu’s talents began to be recognized by the public in 1999 when he won the silver medal at the Shanghai Music Awards New Singer Competition. He advanced to the finals, where he won the award for having the most potential of any singer. Because of this, he was discovered by Go East Entertainment, with whom he signed a contract and released his first album in August 2002. The album became an instant hit and won him many awards in China.

In July 2003, Hu released his second album, “Upgrade 4147,” which he helped produce himself. The album contained duets with popular singers Elva Hsiao and Ronald Cheng. With this album he again swept through the award ceremonies with several trophies under his belt; he also received awards from all over Asia.

Su is a singer and songwriter. He won second place at the 2007 “Super Boy” contest, a national singing contest for young male contestants held by Hunan Satellite Television. Although he was only 23 years old at the time of the contest, Su appeared much more sophisticated than many of the other young men in the competition. After winning second place in the contest, he released his first EP, including six new songs.
