WITH his big angelic eyes and glossy soft fur, Heston looks like any other gentle pet cat. So innocent is his appearance, it is easy to dismiss a sign on the Robertson household’s front door warning visitors to “beware” of their tomcat as a harmless joke. But, as neighbors and deliverers have unfortunately discovered, it is nothing of the sort. When 5-year-old Heston is not nuzzling indoors with his owner Bruce Robertson, he is terrorizing visitors to his home in Caldicot, south Wales. So vicious is the cat, named after celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal, that he has injured two postwomen, a parcel delivery driver and even attacked a mechanic. Steelworker Robertson, 58, who has a 21-year-old son called Shane, said the family’s pet has been dubbed the “devil cat” by locals. “He has drawn blood from two post deliverers. One was a postwoman who after the attack was shouting at us from across the road with blood pouring down her arm,” Shane said. “Heston also drew blood from another post lady by jumping up at the letterbox and biting her hand. “Then we had a parcel man who was bitten and he rang up my wife later to say he was going to report our guard dog for being dangerous. But it wasn’t a dog that attacked him, it was Heston,” he explained.(SD-Agencies) |
