Official prosecuted

    A FORMER deputy head of Luohu District was prosecuted for allegedly taking bribes, the city’s procuratorate said on its official microblog Friday. Zou Yongxiong was investigated in September 2016.

    Trains to Kunming

    HIGH-SPEED trains between Shenzhen and Kunming were officially put into operation Thursday, cutting a one-way trip between the two cities to seven hours from the previous 29 hours. Trains from Shenzhen to Guizhou Province were extended to Kunming.

    Norovirus outbreak

    TWENTY-TWO students in a Bao’an school were hospitalized Thursday due to a Norovirus outbreak. The patients from Shenzhen Shajing Mingde Foreign Language Experimental School developed symptoms including abdominal pain, vomiting and watery diarrhea, but all of the symptoms were mild.

    Boy saved

    A 2-YEAR-OLD boy who accidentally swallowed a piece of metal was saved. The metal piece was about 2 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. It took a medical team in Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital 30 minutes to find it by using a gastroscope.
