    2:30 a.m. on HBO

    At Bainbridge Hospital in the Bronx, reclusive researcher Dr. Malcolm Sayer tries to find out why a group of patients including Leonard Lowe, misdiagnosed as atypical schizophrenics and hysterics, have been catatonic for years.

    Haunted by the possibility that these “human statues” might be alive inside, it falls to the shy, awkward physician to discover the key that will awaken Leonard and others to the joys and pains of living, inadvertently awakening in himself, untapped capacities for friendship and love.

    Danny Donahue and Anson Wheeler are two salesmen who trash a company truck on an energy drink-fueled bender. Upon their arrest, the court gives them a choice: do hard time or spend 150 service hours with a mentorship program for kids.

    Soon, Danny and Anson are forced to tailor their brand of immature wisdom to their charges, Augie and Ronnie. And if they can just make it through probation without getting thrown in jail, the world’s worst role models will prove that, sometimes, it takes a village idiot to raise a child.
