A LONG JOURNEY HOME
    2017-01-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A woman carrying gigantic bags enters Chengdu North Railway Station in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, for a train leaving for her hometown Tuesday. The world’s largest annual human migration will officially begin tomorrow in China and end Feb. 21. The 40-day Spring Festival travel frenzy is known as “Chunyun,” the hectic period surrounding Chinese New Year, which falls this year on Jan. 28. The period of Chinese New Year celebrations is China’s most important family holiday, with hundreds of millions of people heading for their hometowns all over the country to reunite with relatives and old friends.
