A photovoltaic power station in Ningbo City, eastern China’s Zhejiang Province, is put into use yesterday. The solar park, with solar panels stationed over the water in two reservoirs, can facilitate solar power generation and serve aquaculture. It is the largest of its kind in China. With an investment of 1.8 billion yuan (US$259 million), the power station is expected to generate an average of 220 million kilowatt hours per year, an amount that can meet the electricity consumption demands from 100,000 households in a year.Xinhua
