Senior official detained for drunk driving
    2017-01-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DEPUTY director of a government department in Shenzhen is facing criminal charges after being caught drunk driving in the Meilin area in Futian District by traffic police Dec. 29 last year, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Thursday.

The unidentified official was detained after his roadside breath test showed that he was drunk while driving. The legal limit for drunk driving is when the alcohol to blood ratio reaches or surpasses 80 mg per 100 ml blood. He was in charge of administrative law enforcement as the deputy head of a government department.

A source said the official didn’t show up at work Dec. 30 or after the New Year’s Day holiday, and his colleagues later heard the news that he was detained for drunk driving.

The investigation of the case is ongoing. (Zhang Yang)
