Road sections closed
THE section between Gongye No.1 Road and No.9 Road of Nanhai Boulevard, and the section between Nanhai Boulevard and Taizi Road have been closed to give way to the construction of Sea World Station of the spur line for the second phase of Metro Line 9, police said.
The road sections will be closed for two years and a month and affect the traffic on Nanhai Boulevard, Taizi Road and Wanghai Road.
Chartered flight
CAIRO-BASED Air Leisure in Egypt has resumed its chartered flights for Spring Festival holiday travel, sources from the Shenzhen airport said.
Between Jan. 2-March 27, the flight is operating once every other week between Shenzhen, Cairo and Aswan, a southern city in Egypt.
Another chartered flight between Shenzhen and Manado, Indonesia, was also put into service last week by Lion Air, the largest private airline company in Indonesia.
Ex-principal jailed
LU JINGFENG, former principal of Shenzhen No.2 Vocational School, was sentenced to 10 years and six months in jail recently, the Shenzhen People’s Procuratorate said Thursday.
Lu was convicted of abusing power and taking bribes of 6.19 million yuan (US$897,300), HK$100,000 (US$12,895) and US$10,000 when he worked as head of Bao’an Vocational School and Shenzhen No. 2 Vocational School.
Road expansion
THE Pingshan-Kuichong section of the expansion project of Pingxi Road, known as Pingkui Road, has been completed and opened to traffic, nine months ahead of schedule, sources form the construction center of Shenzhen transport commission said.
