Overhead corridor to link Lianhua, Bijia hills
    2017-January-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN overhead corridor for slow traffic will be built in Futian District, linking Lianhua and Bijia hills, Sznews.com revealed yesterday.

The revelation came after the Meilin-Caitian area was listed by the city government as a major area for expedited development. On Jan. 14, a topping-off ceremony was held for the 388.3-meter-tall Upper Hills Phase III, a key project developed by Sum Yip Group Ltd. for the area. The corridor is part of the urban renewal project based on the original SEG-Hitachi factory compound.

According to Futian’s urban plans for 2016-2020, the corridor will also be part of a massive green slow traffic network connecting different parts of the district.

Lianhua Hill Park and Bijia Hill Park are popular hiking spots for residents. The two parks are about 1 kilometer apart but are separated by Caitian Road and Huanggang Road. Residents now have to navigate through several road crossings to go from one park to the other. It will take only 10 minutes to walk between the two parks after the corridor is completed.   (Lin Min)
