THE launch of www.eyeshenzhen.com, the official English Web portal of Shenzhen, has been selected as a top 10 cultural event in the city for 2016.
The list of events, publicized yesterday, also includes the release of “Implementation Measures for Shenzhen’s Cultural and Innovative Development by 2020,” UNESCO’s High-level Forum on Museums, and the 12th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair. All of the events showcased Shenzhen’s cultural innovation.
One of the key projects of “Shenzhen’s Cultural and Innovative Development by 2020,” EYESHENZHEN is Shenzhen’s first English-language Web portal. It is run by the Shenzhen Daily, Shenzhen’s only English-language newspaper.
The Web portal consists of four sections: Profile, Guide for Residents, Business and Things To Do. It covers information from public services and business opportunities to leisure and lifestyle information.
EYESHENZHEN was put into operation May 9, 2016, attracting extensive attention from authoritative media such as Xinhua News Agency and CCTV. Along with the website, an English-language WeChat account was launched on the same day.
Recently, the website won an average score of 82 out of 100 in a readers’ survey, and 95 percent of the readers surveyed said they were willing to recommend this website to others.
By now, EYESHENZHEN has been in operation for nearly one year and has been a multicultural window for readers to get to know Shenzhen and the world. The Shenzhen Daily is planning to update the site to provide an even better information service for readers.
