THE Meilin Checkpoint area will be built into a gateway into Longhua District and an all-around service center integrating residential, commercial and office buildings.

    According to the Longhua Party Congress that concluded recently, the urban renewal project around the decommissioned Meilin Checkpoint will cover the whole area east of Meiguan Expressway, south of Minle Overpass, west of Minzhi Avenue and north of Minkang Road.

    The urban renewal project will improve land-use efficiency, propel resource integration and promote sustainable economic, social and environmental development in the area, Longhua officials said. (Zhang Yang)
