English movies “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” and “The Help” will be shown free of charge at Shenzhen Book City.

    U.S. movie “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” is an action spy film co-written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. In the film, IMF agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is on the run from the CIA, following the IMF’s disbandment as he tries to prove the existence of the Syndicate, a mysterious international terrorist consortium.

    “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” is a 2013 epic high-fantasy adventure film directed by Peter Jackson. The film follows the titular character Bilbo Baggins as he accompanies Thorin Oakenshield and his fellow dwarves on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug.

    “The Help” is a 2011 American period drama film directed and written by Tate Taylor, and adapted from Kathryn Stockett’s 2009 novel of the same name. The film stars Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Allison Janney, Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone. The film recounts the story of young white woman and aspiring journalist Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan. The story focuses on her relationship with two black maids, Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson, during the Civil Rights era in 1962 Jackson, Mississippi. In an attempt to become a legitimate journalist and writer, Skeeter decides to write a book from the point of view of the maids — referred to as “the help” — exposing the racism they are faced with as they work for white families.
