    THE weather for the Spring Festival holiday between Friday and Feb. 1 will be stable with temperatures ranging between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius.

    Scattered light rain caused by the cold air may affect the city starting Feb. 2 and temperatures will drop slightly, the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said yesterday.

    In the week before the holiday, the city will be cloudy with minimum temperatures of 12-15 degrees Celsius between today and Thursday.

    The city reported a minimum temperature between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius yesterday, the start of the peak of holiday rush.

    As temperatures in northern Guangdong are expected to reach 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, the observatory reminded drivers to be aware of possible icy roads and light mist tomorrow and Wednesday mornings.
