Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with young conductor Zhang Jiemin to present a night of popular classical music to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Soprano Chen Li’an, accordionist Tan Jialiang and tenor Wei Jianjiang will also be featured.

The program will include Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet,” Elgar’s “Salut d’amor,” Saint-Saens’ “Danse Bacchanale,” Piazzolla’s “Oblivion” and songs from operas and operettas, including Lehar’s “The Land of Smiles,” “The Merry Widow,” Bizet’s “Carmen,” Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale,” “La Fille du Regiment” and Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut.”

The following year she made her debut in Spain with La Traviata at the Palazzo dello Sport in Madrid, and in 2008 she conducted in a series of concerts at Salerno’s opera house.
