EIGHT people were detained or fined in eight typical perjury cases released by Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court recently.
Among the eight civil dispute cases that involve housing transactions, private loans and salary payment, four of them have been concluded.
In one case, a housing agent was fined 50,000 yuan (US$7,293) for forging the signature of his client to demand a 20,000 yuan commission.
The housing agent brought his customer, surnamed Meng, to court by submitting a commission payment contract allegedly signed by Meng. A court investigation showed that the signature was forged and fined the housing agent 50,000 yuan.
In another case, a man identified as Ye brought two debtors, surnamed Chen and Liao, to court as the two were unable to pay back their loans.
Ye claimed to have lent them 3.32 million yuan, but the two hadn’t paid back the loans after paying Ye 1.1 million yuan in interest.
The two denied they were the actual borrowers from Ye and provided the transaction records of a borrower surnamed Lei. Lei appeared at the court to testify, but Lei often changed his testimony and contradicted the others. The Longgang court fined Lei 20,000 yuan. (Han Ximin)
