Dr. Cai Jifu (L) checks whether an 83-year-old patient, identified by her surname Dai, can move her arms after she underwent a surgery at the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital to remove a blood clot from her brain earlier this month. Dai, from Henan Province, was reuniting with her family members for the Chinese New Year when she had a stroke. She was fortunate to be saved after a 35-minute surgery performed by Dr. Cai.
