SHENZHEN’S Party chief and Mayor, Xu Qin, extended his Chinese New Year’s greetings to netizens in a letter dated Jan. 25, saying that the development of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone needs the netizens’ supervision, support and criticism.
Shenzhen is home to tens of millions of netizens, Xu said in the letter. On behalf of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shenzhen Municipal Government, he said he sincerely hoped that the netizens would continue to care about, support and take part in the special economic zone’s construction.
“I hope you will pass positive energy at every click of the mouse, and highlight the themes of the times,” said the Party chief. “Together we can create a cleaner network space and build a quality, more beautiful city.”
In the letter, Xu also reviewed the achievements the city had made over the past year and promised to give local residents “a sense of gain and a feeling of happiness.”
“I sincerely wish all the netizens and their families a happy Spring Festival! May all go well with you!” Xu said at the end of the letter.
