THE city is expected to experience a recruitment surge following the Lantern Festival, 15 days after the Spring Festival, since a large number of employers will be looking for new staff after the holiday, according to a person in charge from the Shenzhen Talent Market.
A weeklong public job fair began at the talent market in Luohu District on Saturday, the second day after the public holiday. The fair has attracted over 600 companies. Companies from the electronic information industry offered the largest number of vacant posts for future employees.
Industries like electronic information and machinery manufacturing are offering many jobs at the free job fair, the Shenzhen Evening News reported. For instance, the local carmaker BYD set up several stalls at the market to recruit computer programmers, design engineers, technicians and so forth.
“The annual monthly salary for college graduates ranges from 4,000 yuan (US$583.6) to 8,000 yuan, which has grown compared to the same period last year, and our company will also offer accommodations,” said one of the personnel from an electronic technology company in Shenzhen. They are going to recruit 50 people at the fair.
The job fair has attracted a large number of famous companies, including Foxconn, BYD, Midea and BGI, the News report said.
Compared to previous years, the number of employers from fields such as education and training has been reduced, but the number of companies in new energy and intelligent manufacturing increased this year, the report said.
The employers are looking for experienced staff, but many of them are also offering training posts and internships for jobseekers. More job fairs will be organized in the coming months.
