    Sports center

THE Xiangmi Sports Center, which opened to the public before the Spring Festival holiday, will remain free of charge until Saturday, the Lantern Festival, officials with the Futian District Government said.

Residents will be charged for using the facilities to play sports such as tennis, soccer and basketball after the free period, although the areas for jogging and fitness will remain free. People can make reservations by calling 8377-1352.

    Safe vegetables

NO contaminated vegetables supplied to Hong Kong from the mainland have been found for 21 consecutive years, Shenzhen’s inspection and quarantine bureau said Monday.

Last year, 51,000 batches of vegetables weighing 475,000 tons were shipped to Hong Kong, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent, according to the bureau.
