SHENZHEN’S social aid centers have been opened to homeless people as a cold spell from the north will bring temperatures down to 8-9 degrees Celsius between Friday and Sunday.

The Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory has issued a yellow alert for the cold air and reminded residents to keep warm, and be cautious about using fire in the dry weather. Homeless people can call 12349 to get help.

The cold air brought temperatures down by 5-8 degrees Celsius in northern Guangdong on Wednesday and Thursday. Some mountainous areas recorded temperatures of between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius.
