    2017-02-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Meaning:

“血槽” means “blood groove,” “已” means “already,” and “空” means “empty.” This four-character term is an online usage that originally refers to a state of characters in games who have lost all their blood and are about to die. Now it is often used to mean suffering immensely, internally devastated and on the verge of collapse.

    Example:

Sūshān zuìjìn qìsè bù taì hǎo a, zěnme huíshì?

Susan looked a little pale and dejected recently. Did anything happen to her?

Tā gānggāng hé nánpéngyǒu fēnshǒu, xuècáo yǐkōng。

She had just broken up with her boyfriend. She suffered immensely from the breakup.

Zhēn xīwàng tā néng kuàixiē cóng zhèjiànshì zhōng zǒu chūlái。

I really hope she can quickly get out of it.

    Wǒ yě shì zhème xīwàng。

    So do I.
