Japanese bands to rock B10 Live
    2017-February-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Three Japanese bands Choleraic, Gotsu Totsu Kotsu and Tumourboy will collaborate for a heavy metal show Friday night at B10 Live and the Abstracts metal core band will also perform Sunday.

Gotsu Totsu Kotsu is a Japanese death metal band and has samurai-related themes in their music. One can feel the solemnness of a samurai who died as a martyr and the brutality on the battlefield throughout their works. These unique immersive feelings have made them a well-known band in the death metal world.

Gotsu Totsu Kotsu is expert at employing fast bass lines, powerful guitar and aggressive drumming, vividly picturing a strong, bold samurai. The band uses minimal instruments to create extremely dynamic music.

Despite the smoky battlefield, the music of Gotsu Totsu Kotsu is also related to Buddhism. “Retributive Justice,” the third album of the band, directly shows their contemplation of war and so-called justice.

Progressive metal core band Abstracts from Tokyo mixes a melodic and catchy sound with technical rhythm. Formed in 2014, the band has already released two albums, collaborating with internationally known artists, such as Mark Holcomb of Periphery and Kento Sugisaki of 7 Years to Midnight.

In 2014, Abstracts celebrated the nationwide release of its self-titled debut. Well-known artists were involved in the making of this record, such as Acle Kahney who was in charge of the mastering, Marcel Gadacz who did the artwork and Holcomb who contributed a guest appearance on guitar.

In spring 2015, Abstracts performed a number of live gigs throughout Japan in support of their debut. In June, they signed to Go With Me Records and announced the production of a second album, along with new member Hikari on the drums. In January 2016, Abstracts reported the release of their second album “Hologram” in March via Go With Me Records in Japan and shortly afterwards put out a video of the same name that also introduced their new guitarist Kyosuke.
