HOSPITAL patients said that they felt more satisfied with the medical services they had received in Shenzhen last year than a year earlier, a survey by the city’s health commission showed yesterday.

Out of the nearly 1.5 million people surveyed, 91.8 percent of the respondents said that they were either very satisfied, satisfied or more or less satisfied with the medical services they had received last year. The average degree of satisfaction was about 81.72 percent, 2.35 percent higher than a year earlier.

More people responded to the survey about last year than the one about the previous quarter, which covered 113 hospitals.

Among the hospitals, the best-rated public hospital was the Shenzhen Kouan Hospital, followed by the Shenzhen Prevention and Treatment Center for Occupational Diseases, and the Shenzhen Sun Yat-sen Cardiovascular Hospital. The best-rated private hospital was the C-MER (Shenzhen) Dennis Lam Eye Hospital, followed by the Shenzhen Zhongshan Urological Hospital, and the Shenzhen Jingtian Hospital.

The survey found that a major complaint of patients was long waiting times. The health commission said that it has launched an app that will effectively solve the problem, and that it will promote the use of the app, called Health Shenzhen, this year.

The least satisfactory hospitals included the Shenzhen Pingshan New Area Maternity and Childcare Hospital, the Shenzhen Bao’an District Songgang People’s Hospital, the Shenzhen Bao’an District Fuyong People’s Hospital, the Shenzhen Yuanda Hospital for Proctology and Intestine Disease, the Shenzhen Huanan Gynecological Hospital and the Shenzhen Deschamps Urological Hospital.
