Illegal structure at seaside resort torn down
    2017-February-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LAW enforcement officers in Nan’ao recently tore down a piece of an illegal structure at the seaside Luzui Villas resort that was built inside of the ecological protection boundary in Dapeng New Area, the Shenzhen Evening News reported.

According to a staff member from the new area’s anti-illegal structure department, the resort developer secretly built a two-story permanent structure in a covert place near a cliff during the Spring Festival. The structure covered a 90-square-meter area with double the floor area.

The law enforcement officers in Nan’ao were assigned to patrol the area 24 hours a day after discovering the illegal structure.

Since the structure was located in a remote area, large equipment for dismantling buildings could not reach the site. Adding the fact that it was near a dangerous cliff, the dismantling work posed hazards for the workers.

In a bid to ensure safety, the law enforcement team arranged 13 workers, 30 security members and five inspectors to tear down the structure “piece by piece.” The main framework of the structure had been dismantled as of Friday.

The city government urged the operation to be undertaken as part of a crackdown on illegal structures citywide. (Zhang Qian)
