诺贝尔奖获得者杨振宁和图灵奖得主姚期智成为第一批放弃美国国籍由外籍院士转为中科院院士的海外科学家。杨振宁院士加入中国科学院数学物理学部，姚期智院士加入中国科学院信息技术科学部。

    Nobel laureate Chen Ning Yang and Turing Award-winning computer scientist Andrew Chi-chih Yao have given up their foreign citizenship and become Chinese citizens, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) announced yesterday.

    They are the first overseas scientists to relinquish their foreign citizenship to join the official faculty of China’s highest scientific research organization. Yang, 95, will join the mathematical physics department, while Yao, 71, will enter the information technology and science department.
