Italian electronic-rock band The Glamour Manifesto will perform Saturday at Brown Sugar Jar.
Formed in Venice 2006, the band consists of Armen Simonpour (lead vocals, guitar) and Mattia Cecchetto (drums, percussion) and Jonas “Jelly” Soendberg (keys). The Glamour Manifesto is glorious and festive. They play rock, industrial electronic, trip-hop, breakbeat and post punk. They draw influence from The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead and many others. Their use of hysterical singing is a signature of theirs and the drum beats are solid and filled with energy.
After releasing their first single “Hide and Eat,” they quickly rose in prominence and fame.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2009. The band has since performed all around Europe and Japan. They have shared the stage with notable DJs and bands and also appeared on MTV and many other TV music programs. In 2012, their new EP “Humalina,” broke through the new music scene of electronic and rock.
