MISSION Hills Group announced the launch of a nationwide junior soccer league in Shenzhen on Saturday.
More than 150 kids of different nationalities participated in the competition and the team from South American Lanmor Football Club won the championship.
The league is operated in partnership with Pro Evolution Athletes, a professional soccer training institute from England.
Mission Hills will aim to provide opportunities for more than 25,000 junior soccer players throughout 2017 via the league and other grassroots initiatives.
Later in the season, the league will further extend to include a nationwide cup competition, international fixtures and a junior world cup event.
Tenniel Chu, vice chairman of Mission Hills Group, said: “We believe this exciting kickoff will revolutionize football at the grassroots level and ensure tens of thousands of young children across the country will have the opportunity to play the beautiful game.”
The league is also establishing a foundation that will use soccer as a catalyst for bringing change and opportunity to less-privileged children across China.
